About CleverFootball.com
CleverFootball.com is a brand new way to stay up-to-date with football news.
The site 'knows' about football and the web. It knows where to find the latest football news and understands which teams the articles refer to. It is therefore able to show you the latest news and opinion about YOUR team from many different sources.
We're also able to group news articles that are related to each other, which saves you a lot of time scanning similar headlines. Or, you can read about the same subject from a bunch of different angles, depending on your appetite.
We're pretty new. More cool stuff is coming soon. Please add yourself to our mailing list so we can stay in touch.
We would also love to get feedback on the site - just send us email.
You can also follow Phil McThomas - the site creator - on Twitter (@soccershout).

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the purpose of this site?
Cleverfootball.com exists to connect football fans to football news with the least amount of fuss possible.
How does CleverFootball.com work?
CleverFootball.com is just a fancy-dan news reader (a lot like, say, Google Reader). Many news sites and blogs provide a summary of recent stories in a computer-readable file. CleverFootball.com scans these article summaries and makes them available in one place.
Why should I use this site instead of, say, Google Reader?
CleverFootball.com lets you quickly zero-in on the news about your team. There's no need to scan site after site looking for that one story about your team.
Conversely, it also offers you a wider perspective. We'll scan sites that you might not even be aware of. As a news story is breaking, you can check to see how it's being reported all across the web.
So whether you want a little bit of news or a lot - we can do that.
Which sites are being scanned?
We're current scanning over one hundred sites - corporate news sites and indie bloggers.
Heres the complete list.
Can you start scanning site X?
If it's something that football fans might be interested in - sure. Just send us an email.
Can you stop scanning site X?
With a heavy heart, we will. Just send us an email. We'd love to discuss it further though and maybe change your mind.
We see CleverFootball.com as providing a win-win for football fans and website publishers. We put good news stories under the noses of fans who want to read them, and we bring football fans to publishers.
We take care to be 'publisher friendly'. We link directly to the source of the story, not to some intermediate internal page. We also don't display the full article text, even if it is available in the syndication feed. We'd rather push the reader directly to the source, as we feel this is a better experience for both the reader and the publisher.
Who is behind this site? How can we get in touch?
The main driving force behind the site is Phil McThomas. Phil was the host of the popular football podcast Soccer Shout, which ran for over 250 shows and was downloaded a quarter of a million times.
Send him an email, and be sure to follow Phil on Twitter (@soccershout).
